Presenter

Lauren Thiel is the founder of boutique accounting firm, The Real Thiel (www.therealthiel.com). A chartered accountant, with a passion for the arts, Lauren is on a mission to educate, empower and motivate creative small business owners. Lauren has a double degree in tourism and event management, and commerce, with a major in accounting, and spent her early years in the industry with KPMG Adelaide. She founded her first company, a dance school, at just 22, and today continues to contribute to the arts through her role as treasurer, board member and festival producer of the Cabaret Fringe Festival. Lauren may very well be the only accountant we know who can also do the entire ‘Single Ladies’ dance routine.

Description

While much of the world has ground to a halt, one thing hasn’t: managing your finances. Join Editors SA for an informative Zoom session discussing all things finance and tax for editors. Whether you are a full-time freelancer, an in-house employee or you just want to know what you can tax deduct at the end of financial year, Lauren Thiel will be answering all your questions, and providing some handy tips on how to maximise your return.

If you have burning tax time questions for Lauren, please email edsa.events@iped-editors.org by Monday 18 May 2020.
