Writers' Week breakfast 2019

Posted on: 19 February 2019

Writers' Week 2019 is coming up, in the Pioneer Women's Memorial Gardens as always, and this year Editors SA is again running its Writers' Week breakfast event for everyone who's interested! Register via Memnet and come along to The Coffee Club at Oaks Embassy Adelaide, 96 North Terrace, at 8:00am on Saturday 2 March - we'll get breakfast and then wander on down to the Gardens to get the lay of the land.

Writers' Week this year is looking fantastic, with something lined up to interest everyone. Speakers range from journalist Kerry O'Brien and former President of the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission Gillian Triggs, who'll both be discussing their memoirs, to Man Booker prize winner Ben Okri, who'll be presenting the opening address and discussing his new novel The Freedom Artist, Claire Hooper (The Arsonist) focusing on the Black Saturday bushfires, and award-winning author Maria Tumarkin (Axiomatic) presenting the biennial Hazel Rowley Lecture. There's Kids' Day on Saturday 2 March and a program for YA and middle grade readers on Sunday 3 March, the new Twilight Talks and Zeitgeist Series events, and panels on everything from fiction and poetry to journalism, philosophy and politics showcasing writers from around the world, so why not come and catch up with some friends at the breakfast while you figure out where to dive in!
